Hyderabad - Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji paid homage to Imam Hussain (a.s) & His Companion's to mark Moharram - Arbaeen saying nothing was more important to him than the values of truth and justice.
“We recall the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (a.s). For him, there was nothing more important than the values of truth and justice. His emphasis on equality as well as fairness are noteworthy and give strength to many,” the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji said in a tweet. Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram is the annual commemoration of Imam Hussain’s martyrdom.
The Arbaʽeen, Chehelom is a religious observance that occurs forty days after the Day of Ashura. It commemorates the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Husain ibn Ali, (AS) the grandson of Holy Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad (SAWS), who was killed on the 10th day of the month of Muharram
Mir Firasath Ali Baqri said Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar, reaches a crescendo on 10th Muharram, the day when Hazrat Imam Hussain Ibn Ali, grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS), and his followers were martyred in 61 Hijri or 680 CE at Karbala, in present-day Iraq.
About 1,400 pilgrims from Hyderabad and a total of 25,000 from across India have congregated at Karbala, Iraq, for Arbaeen, that marks the end of the 40-day period of mourning for the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain. The gathering, considered the world’s largest peaceful gathering of humanity, will take place on 7 September.
More than six crore people from 70 different Nationalities and different faiths had already reached Karbala , Iraq including two crore Iranians, to pay homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain, the Grandson of Prophet of Islam Hazrat Mohammed Mustafa (s.a.w.a)
This comes as lakhs of visitors have been walking to Karbala from all over Iraq, Special from Najaf to Karbala and large numbers from across the Iranian border, for days. The crowds are so huge, but the governor of Karbala said it was the largest attendance ever, according to a statement released here.
Mir Firasath Ali Baqri, General secretary, Hyderi Education and Social welfare Society, said, "The Arbaeen Walk is the largest annual peaceful gathering that witnesses the participation over millions of people from different countries. The number of visitors is so high the country's top brass had to revise its security plan and open new access routes to the holy city of Karbala, a medium-sized city about 80 kms south of the capital Baghdad."
Experts say it is an endeavour to keep alive the movement of Karbala, which is a movement against terrorism, fascism, and despotism.
